Police: Man Arrested for 'Malicious Wounding' Incident

Detectives are asking for help from anyone who may have information in the case.

Fairfax County Police detectives from the Fugitive Task Force have arrested Douglas E. Melgar Serrano, 28, of Alexandria in a malicious wounding incident, according to police.

Serrano was wanted for malicious wounding as a result of an incident that occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 2 around 11:10 p.m. He was arrested Tuesday, police said.

Police were called Sept. 2 to the 7200 block of Richmond Highway (see Google map below) for a report of a man lying on the ground in the parking lot to the rear of a restaurant, according to police. The victim, a 38-year-old man from the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
