Police Report Attempted Robbery on Sherwood Hall Lane

Fairfax County Police say that a resident was assaulted and nearly robbed while walking Saturday night in the area of Mount Woodley Place and Sherwood Hall Lane.

The attempted robbery took place Saturday night at about 10:11 p.m., when the victim was approached by a man, police said.

The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take property from the victim prior to fleeing on foot, police said. The victim incurred non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late teens, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, according to police.
