Police Officer Shoots Pit Bull Dog at Arlington Terrace After Biting Incident
The dog sustained "non life-threatening" injuries, according to police.

Fairfax County Animal Control officers responded Tuesday morning to a complaint about a person being bit by a pit bull dog that they say was loose on Arlington Terrace.
Officers arrived just after 8 a.m. Tuesday to the 2200 block of Arlington Terrace, in the Huntington area.
While attempting to get a hold of the dog, the dog charged the officer in an aggressive manner, according to a report from Fairfax County Police.

The officer deployed baton strikes but the dog was able to evade the officer and charged him again, the FCPD report says.
The officer discharged his weapon and shot the dog, police say. The dog sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Charges are pending against the owner. The officer did not require medical attention.
