Property Manager Attacked By Intruder In Vacant Apartment

Police caught up to the man after the assault in Hybla Valley.

A man is facing charges after reportedly assaulting a property manager in Hybla Valley Tuesday evening.

Around 4:29 p.m., police responded to a trespassing report in 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue. A property manager searched and found a man inside a vacant apartment.

As an officer arrived, the suspect assaulted the property manager and fled, police say. A brief pursuit on foot ensued. James Gibson, 18, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with trespassing, destruction of property, assault, obstruction of justice and possession of marijuana.

  • 3100 block of Lockheed Boulevard, merchandise from business
  • 6800 block of Richmond Highway, cash from residence
