Residents Thwart Armed Robbery Attempt at Apartment Complex

Fairfax County Police say that residents thwarted a gunman’s attempt to rob them Thursday night as they were headed home at a local apartment complex.

The attempted robbery took place in the 3500 block of Rolling Hills Avenue (see Google map below), Thursday at about 8:49 p.m., according to police.

The victims were walking into an apartment building when they were approached by a black male suspect, police said. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to FCPD. The victims quickly retreated to a residence and the suspect fled in an unknown direction, police said.
