Robbery Victim Punched, Held At Knifepoint In Groveton

Police say the victim was punched and robbed at knifepoint while getting into his car near Richmond Highway.

GROVETON, VA—Fairfax County Police are seeking three unknown suspects in a Saturday Groveton robbery.

Around 2 a.m., the victim was entering his car in the 6600 block of Richmond Highway when two men punched him from behind. One of the men pulled out a knife, while a third man took the victim's money. All of the unknown suspects fled.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 9 and wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. The second suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6 foot 1 to 6 foot 2 and wearing a red jacket, black pants and white shoes. The third suspect was described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 9 and wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, khaki shorts, and black shoes.

The Greater Alexandria area saw two other notable robberies over the long holiday weekend. One resulted in an arrest.

Mount Vernon: 8629 Richmond Highway, 9/3/17 between 2:45 and 2:50 a.m.The suspect entered the 7-Eleven, pulled out a gun and demanded money from the victims. The victims gave the suspect money and the suspect ran away from the store. A description of the suspect was given as a black man, about 6 feet tall, wearing a tan coat and pants, a hood, and had his face covered.

Groveton: 3100 block of Lockheed Boulevard, 9/3/17 around 4:10 p.m.The victim was walking home when the suspect asked him for money. The victim refused and the suspect pulled a knife and demanded money. The victim ran and called police. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Mount Vernon Station where warrants were issued for attempted robbery. Arrested was 27-year-old, Isaias Castro, of the Alexandria area.
