Two People Displaced After Accidental Huntington Area Apartment Fire

Fire officials estimate damage at $120,000.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue firefighters responded to a high-rise apartment fire Saturday, May 30, at approximately 2:55 a.m., in Huntington. The apartment is located at 5850 Cameron Run.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the 15-story building when they arrived, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes, the fire department said. Two occupants have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross, the department noted. There were no injuries, the department said.

Damage is estimated at $120,000, the fire department said.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical event within the electrical service feed caused the fire.
