Victim Seriously Injured In Groveton Stabbing: Police

A man is facing charges for stabbing a person multiple times in a Groveton domestic incident.

GROVETON, VA—A man has been charged in a violent stabbing during a domestic incident in Groveton early Monday.

Around 12:20 a.m., police responded to reports of a stabbing in the 6700 block of Tower Road. They found a victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police arrested Alexander Nartatez, 50, at the home. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond. Police said there was no threat to the public.

Armed Robbery: 7800 block of Richmond Highway, 9/24/17, around 12:40 a.m. The victim was sitting on the curb using her cell phone when the suspect approached her from behind. The suspect grabbed her wallet that was on the ground next to her. He pointed a knife at her and grabbed the cell phone from her. The suspect ran to a nearby bicycle and rode off. The suspect is described as a black male, around 30 years old, wearing a t-shirt and black hat.

Warrant/Arrest: Eureka Court and Sacramento Drive, 9/25/17 around 6:15 p.m.Officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was driven by a person wanted by Virginia State Police. The driver of the vehicle was previously involved in a hit and run on 9/19/17. The driver of the vehicle then attempted to run away and was arrested by officers. 26 year-old, Jeffrey Cunningham of Alexandria, Virginia was charged with disregarding signal by law enforcement officer and duty of driver to stop in event of accident involving injury or death or damage to attended property.
