Here are the top stories today in Norfolk:
- A woman was hurt after being shot outside of a grocery store in Norfolk yesterday. Norfolk police were called to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Food Lion parking lot at 3530 Tidewater Drive. According to police, another person fired the gun after getting in an argument with the victim. The woman was taken to the local hospital with a non-life-threatening wound. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
- Chrysler Hall is approaching its 50th year of symphonies, ballets, Broadway shows, and other events in Norfolk. Renovations and modernization will help it last another 50 years, according to a Norfolk city official. However, the cost will be over $76 million with an influx of federal money expected to help pay for it. Norfolk officials pitched to use a portion of the city's federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars to help fund the renovation, which would start in 2023. (The Virginian-Pilot)
