Tax On Out-Of-State License Plates Approved By County Supervisors
A new fine targeting residents who do not register their vehicles or use Virginia license plates was approved by the Prince William Board of County Supervisors on Tuesday. The new ordinance was approved with a 7-1 vote.
Cigarette Tax To Be Discussed By Loudoun County Supervisors
Cigarettes in Loudoun County may be getting more expensive under a new proposal being considered by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. On Wednesday night, supervisors will vote on a proposal to levy a $0.40 tax on any pack of cigarettes sold in the county.

National Search To Replace Alexandria City Manager Begins
Alexandria City Council announced Wednesday it is launching the national search for a new city manager. City Manager Mark Jinks announced his upcoming retirement in June and will remain in the position until a replacement is hired. City Council expected the selection of a new city manager will happen by the end of 2021.
$1 Million Lottery Prize Awarded To Spotsylvania Woman
A woman from Spotsylvania County won a $1 million grand prize from the Virginia Lottery last month. The woman, Karen Deskins, won the top prize through a drawing in the Commonwealth Second Chance promotion.
