Now, 41 cameras at 28 locations are in place, covering most of the 18 miles of the trail in the county.
The county moved on the camera system soon after the brutal attack on Tina Waddell last summer, CBS 46 reported. Waddell was dragged into the woods and left for dead, but she was able to crawl out to an area where she was found. No arrests have been made in that attack.

The Waddell assault was the second serious attack on the trail in eight years. In 2006, cyclist Jennifer Ewing was attacked and killed on the trail near Dallas.
“I think it’s a great resource, it’s going to be a great tool to be able to narrow down where the responders need to go,” Paulding County Deputy 911 Director Christina Cooper told CBS 46.
