Malden Police Arrest Man In Connection With Multiple Sexual Incidents
The person arrested has a history with police.
MALDEN, MA — The police department announced on Tuesday that it has made an arrest in connection to a series of multiple crimes described as sexual in nature.
Malachi Scott, 29, of Boston was arrested by Malden police recently with the assistance of the Waltham Police Department. Police say the incidents he is believed to be responsible for have multiple victims who are Malden residents. While no physical injuries were reported, the incidents caused emotional distress to each victim, police said.
The investigation was led by Detective Stephen Munyon of the Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from Detective David Yung.

“This investigation would not have been possible without the cooperation of the community and the courage of those who came forward. The Malden Police Department hopes this development provides some measure of relief to those affected,” the department said in a statement. “Each investigation presents unique circumstances, and in this instance, earlier disclosure could have interfered with investigative efforts or placed victims and witnesses at risk. Public safety remained a priority throughout, and safeguards were in place while detectives worked to identify and take the individual into custody.”
Scott is slated to be arraigned in Malden District Court soon. In 2015, he was arrested on the charges of assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm in Boston. Police discovered a handgun in Scott’s possession and one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. He was also arrested as recently as January in Waltham on the charge of open and gross lewdness after he reportedly exposed his genitals and engaged in lewd conduct from inside his vehicle.
