“The checkpoint is authorized by the Hillsborough County Superior Court, and will be conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office,” according to Sgt. S. Callinan of the NHSP. “The New Hampshire State Police and the Bedford Police consider the identification and apprehension of impaired drivers and enforcement of the driving while intoxicated statutes to be a top priority. Sobriety checkpoints are one of the best methods of deterring the impaired driver.”
