CONCORD, NH — A man from Haverhill, Massachusetts, who died after a crash on Interstate 93 in Windham has been identified as Joshua Raposo, 42, according to New Hampshire State Police.
The crash occurred at 5:50 a.m. Oct. 22, 2026, on I-93 northbound near Mile Marker 6.6.
Troopers assigned to the Troop B barracks responded to a report of a crash involving what witnesses described as a disabled vehicle smoking in the middle of the road. When troopers arrived, they found a 2007 Toyota Solara with substantial front-end damage.
The preliminary investigation determined Raposo was driving northbound in the middle lane when the Toyota crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer driver then pulled into the weigh station a short distance ahead and notified state police of the crash.
Raposo was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.
The crash blocked multiple northbound lanes for approximately two hours while first responders investigated. State police said all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Alexander Guilbeault at alexander.r.guilbeault@dos.nh.gov.

A man from Charlestown was arrested Wednesday after state police said he drove the wrong way on Interstate 89 in Hopkinton and avoided troopers who tried to stop him.
Troopers assigned to the Troop D barracks were notified just before noon on Wednesday of multiple reports of a silver Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 89, just south of Exit 7 in Hopkinton. Troopers responded and found the truck still traveling the wrong way in the northbound lanes.
State police said the truck was in the high-speed lane when the first trooper tried to stop it with lights and siren activated, but the driver avoided the cruiser and kept going the wrong way. A second trooper also tried to stop the truck, according to state police, but the driver accelerated and eluded that attempt as well.
Meanwhile, a third trooper initiated a rolling roadblock just north of Exit 3 to stop all northbound traffic, according to state police. After the troopers stopped northbound traffic and cleared the lanes, they turned around and drove toward the truck. State police said the troopers surrounded the pickup with their cruisers and got the driver to stop.
The driver was identified by state police as John Caramore, 78. They took him into custody and transported him for a medical evaluation. State police said Caramore was charged with felony reckless conduct, reckless driving, and operating against the designated direction of travel on a highway.
According to state police, Caramore was released pending arraignment in Concord District Court on Jan. 29, 2027. His bail conditions prohibit him from driving.
State police said the northbound lanes of I-89 were shut down for about 20 minutes until they resolved the incident. All aspects of the incident remain under investigation.
Anyone with footage or other information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Chris Abbate at christopher.j.abbate@dos.nh.gov.
