Stepped-Up Traffic Enforcement Continues: NH State Police Roundup

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police troopers have increased visibility during the past two weeks on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua.
Between Feb. 26 and March 1, troopers stopped 137 vehicles for “various violations,” according to Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the department, “focused mainly on speed and aggressive driving behaviors.”
Three people were charged: Maddox Armonie Shepard, 21, of Manchester, was summonsed to court for reckless operation, while Marvin Neal, 39, of Salisbury was arrested for driving after suspension subsequent offense and speed-25-plus over the speed limit. Nicholas Flores, 21, of Bedford was summonsed to court for reckless operation.

During the week of March 4 to March 8, another 100 vehicles were stopped.
Three people were arrested: James York, 37, of Derry was arrested for operating without a valid license charge and an unregistered vehicle violation, while Shane Donovan, 24, of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, was arrested for aggravated DUI-30-plus over the posted speed limit. Alphonso Walker, 26, of Manchester was arrested for driving after suspension, misuse of plates, and bench warrants.

Safety Initiative On I-93
State troopers also increased safety efforts between Boscawen and Plymouth, Exit 17 to Exit 24, on Interstate 93 between Feb. 24 and March 1.
“Historically,” Lagace said, “according to data, this stretch of Interstate has been a ‘hot spot’ for dangerous driving resulting in motor vehicle crashes and fatal motor vehicle crashes. Since 2019, this stretch of Interstate has seen nine fatal crashes and over 1,000 total crashes, with a portion resulting in serious bodily injury to those involved.”
One hundred and 44 vehicles were stopped and 105 citations were issued, she said.
One man, Kayn Whitney, 28, of Lancaster was arrested on aggravated driving under the influence and vehicular assault charges. He was held on a probation violation and was arraigned in Franklin District Court in Feb. 29.
Around 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 28, troopers were sent to Sanbornton for a crash reported involving a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic that had rolled over into the median and had heavy damage. Whitney, who was driving, as well as a passenger, were taken to Concord Hospital. He was charged later.
“The passenger suffered serious bodily injury as a result of the crash,” Lagace said.

Eric James Hermonat, 19, of Rochester was arrested at 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2024, on motor vehicle not equipped with an alcohol interlock and two driving after revocation or suspension charges as well as a muffler, horn, and lamp violation. Aiden Hatch, 18, of Rochester was arrested on a bench warrant, a transport alcohol by a minor charge, and an improper use of registration violation. They were arrested in Rochester.
Dana Oscar Malenfant, 61, of Littleton was arrested at 7:54 p.m. on Feb. 24 on driving under the influence and DUI-second offense charges in Portsmouth.
Mark F. Preston, 63, of Seabrook was arrested at 7:23 p.m. on Feb. 24 on driving under the influence and reckless operation charges as well as a yellow-solid line violation in Portsmouth.
Thomas Norman Therriault, 21, of Methuen, MA, was charged at 11:03 a.m. on Feb. 24 on a suspension of vehicle registration violation in Dover.
Brenda De Barris Viana, 20, of Manchester was charged at 7:51 a.m. on Feb. 24 on an operating without a valid license in Epping.
J.J. He, 21, of Farmington was arrested at 2:01 a.m. on Feb. 24 on a driving under the influence charge as well as yellow-solid line and stop-stand-park prohibited violations in Rochester.
John Michael Thompson, 26, of Rye was arrested at 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 24 on aggravated driving under the influence-0.16-plus and DUI charges in Greenland.
Scott R. Lauer, 44, of Dover was arrested at 11:34 p.m. on Feb. 23 on a driving under the influence charge in Portsmouth.
Christopher M. Barton, 36, of Nashua was arrested at 8:33 a.m. on Feb. 21 on driving after revocation or suspension and two breach of bail charges as well as an uninspected vehicle violation in Epping. He was arrested again at 4:59 p.m. on Feb. 23 on stalking-domestic violence and two violation of a protective order charges in Raymond.
Steven M. Fritz, 35, of Rye was arrested at 3:32 p.m. on Feb. 23 on driving under the influence, reckless operation, disobeying an officer, tampering with public-private record, and driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charges as well as false report of a motor vehicle accident, false swearing; false statement under oath, unsworn falsification-deceive official violations. He was arrested after an incident in Hampton.
Remee O. Perez, 26, of Nashua was arrested at 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 on an operating with an expired license-subsequent charge as well as uninspected vehicle and unregistered vehicle violations in Candia.
Casey S. Jones, 47, of Dover was arrested at 2:50 p.m. on Feb. 21 on driving after revocation or suspension as well as suspension of vehicle registration and failure to display plates violations in Rochester.
Natanael Landaverde Godinez, 33, of Worcester, MA, was arrested at 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 21 on operating without a valid license and operating with an expired license-subsequent charges after an incident in Dover.
Carlos Alfredo Guanulema Tenenaula, 33, of Biddeford, Maine, was arrested at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 19 on an operating without a valid license in Greenland.
