Campaigns Organize VP Debate Watching Parties in NH

It's Kaine vs. Pence on Oct. 4 and both campaigns are hosting festivities in the Granite State to watch the showdown in Virginia.

Both the Trump Team/Republican Victory and Hillary for New Hampshire organizations are hosting debate watching parties around the Granite State as U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-VA, and Gov. Mike Pence, R-NH, debate on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, from Longwood University, Farmville, VA. Democrats will be hosting debate watching parties in Manchester, Concord, and Salem, as well as Plymouth, Peterborough, Nashua, Portsmouth, Rochester, Dover, Salem, Hanover, and Durham.   • When: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016
  • Time: 9 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. EST; no commercial breaks
  • Where: Longwood University, Farmville, VA
  • Who: Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence, Democratic nominee Tim Kaine, moderator Elaine Quijano of CBSN and CBS News.
  • Format: The debate will be divided into nine time segments of approximately 10 minutes each, according to the Commission on Presidential Debates. The moderator will ask an opening question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic. Tim Kaine won the coin toss, and he'll get the first question.
  • Viewing: The debate will be aired live on C-SPAN, ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, as well as all cable news channels including CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, among others.
