Concord Felon Arrested On Stalking, Assault Charges
Jonathan McCarthy, who has prior arrests on threat, breach, resisting charges, was arrested twice in eight days after incidents downtown.

CONCORD, NH — A Concord felon is facing more charges after being arrested twice in eight days after four separate incidents downtown.
Officers were sent to a domestic incident at a Warren Street apartment building on Feb. 5. When they arrived, they investigated the incident and accused Jonathan McCarthy, 37, of Thompson Street in Concord of having an active bench warrant as well as assault incidents on South Spring Street and Warren Street. After he was arrested, processed, and released, he was ordered to stay away from the victim as well as the Warren Street apartment building.
However, six days later, an accusation was made against McCarthy, claiming he entered the victim's apartment window and a warrant was issued against him.

On Feb. 12, police received another report from a resident of the building who accused McCarthy of again entering the victim's apartment. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who denied McCarthy was in the building.
The officers checked in with the building manager and requested to eye security video from the night before which showed a man climbing into the apartment window around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 11.

The building manager "advised" it was McCarthy, an affidavit stated.
The officers asked to see video from earlier that day and again, McCarthy was seen, wearing the same coat as the day before as well as the Feb. 5 arrest, climbing into a window, the officer wrote. The officer double-checked a criminal bail order and found that it was still active requiring McCarthy to stay away from the building.
Another warrant was issued for his arrest on stalking and breach of bail charges.
The next day, officers were sent to the building again, this time, after police received another call about McCarthy entering the building, an affidavit said.
The officers showed up and spoke with a woman who was outside of the victim's apartment but did not know, for sure, if McCarthy or the victim were inside, but suspected they were. The officers went to different parts of the building and one reported seeing McCarthy near a window, the report stated.
"(The officer) advised that McCarthy had not exited the window," the affidavit stated, "but he saw him peek out and was certain that he was in there."
Officers, concerned for the victim's safety and not knowing if McCarthy was armed, made an emergency entry into the apartment.
The officers searched the apartment and found the victim in one room and McCarthy in a bedroom, the affidavit stated, and he was arrested. He was charged with stalking, domestic violence-simple assault, simple assault, resisting arrest or detention, and breach of bail charges. McCarthy was held without bail.
The victim, the report said, accused McCarthy of entering through a window. She told police she attempted to answer the door when they arrived but McCarthy "put his hand over her mouth and pleaded with her (to) 'please stop making noise, please do this for me,'" the report stated. The victim said she could not answer the door because he was covering her mouth and she was afraid he might kill her, the officer wrote.
A follow-up interview was conducted with the victim on Feb. 14, the affidavit stated.
