Concord Police Log: Elderly Man Arrested for DWI After Allegedly Trying to Flee Crash Scene

Plus, a juice fight between father, daughter; Plymouth woman allegedly tries to stiff Shaw's at self-service register.

Herman J. Lamothe Jr., 37, of Rumford Street in Concord, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2015, for driving after revocation or suspension, disobeying an officer, and a bench warrant. Lamothe was reportedly driving a Hyundai Santa Fe without its lights illuminated on Loudon Road. He allegedly gave a false name but was later identified as Lamothe. He lost his license on Nov. 8, 2014, after a previous operating after suspension conviction earlier in the year, in Hillsborough District Court. He also had a nonappearance in court bench warrant and was arrested. He’s due in Concord District Court on Feb. 9.

Warren R. Picard, 52, a homeless man now located in Concord, received a summons at 8:14 p.m. on Jan. 2, for public disposal of human waste – city ordinance, for urinating in a woman’s driveway on South State Street. Picard reportedly told officers he was looking for a friend’s house but got lost and later, urinated in the driveway. He was allegedly intoxicated and couldn’t maintain balance so he was taken to the Merrimack County House of Corrections. He’s due in court on Feb. 16.

Haley Naughton, 21, of Keeble Street in Plymouth, received a summons at 1:20 p.m. on Jan. 2, for theft by deception at Shaw’s Supermarket on D’Amante Drive. An employee alleged that Naughton failed to enter in the correct price on items in the self-service scan aisle, allegedly ringing in 16 items as bananas and only paying $18.79 for more than $72 worth of items. She’s due in court on Feb. 2.

Tyler M. Corey, 21, a homeless man from Concord, was arrested at 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 2, on a criminal threatening charge from Oct. 25, 2014, at the sandpits near Henniker Drive. He was arrested as a passenger in a vehicle that failed to stop at a red light on Pleasant Street. Corey is due in court on Feb. 9.

Ryan Keeler, 27, of Main Street in Pembroke, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 1, on a driving after revocation or suspension charge and a bench warrant. Keller was stopped on Manchester Street for driving a 1993 Mazda Protégé with an expired inspection sticker and defective brake lights. A check revealed that his license was suspended on Nov. 20, 2104, due to default court summons. An active bench warrant out of Concord District Court from Sept. 30, 2014, for nonappearance in court on an operating without a valid license charge, was also found. Keeler is due in court on Feb. 9.

Dean A. Remick, 45, of Summer Street in Penacook, was arrested at 8:43 p.m. on Jan. 1, on simple assault and domestic violence charges. Officers were called to an apartment Summer Street for a report of a young woman barricaded in a bedroom after her father assaulted her. The reporting officer arrived at the scene and spoke to Remick who reportedly stated that his daughter had throw juice at him. The officer went to speak to the daughter who alleged that her father had been drinking all day and had taken a nap. When he woke up, Remick was reportedly angry about some food, a ham dinner, that had been eaten. She reportedly told him that maybe he shouldn’t drink other people’s juice and the two began to argue. Remick allegedly threw the container of juice on her, soaking her with it, she claimed. After speaking with Remick again, he was arrested. He’s due in court on Feb. 9.

Sean Bready, 21, of Denmark Drive in Northwood, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. on Jan. 1, for aggravated driving while intoxicated and two counts of driving while intoxicated. While parked at the First Colebrook Bank on Loudon Road, an officer saw a Dodge Charger speeding on the road and then, veer toward the parking lot and drive up onto the curb and then back onto the road. The officer followed the vehicle, which appeared to have varying speeds and trouble staying in travel lanes. It was stopped outside of Jiffy Lube on Loudon Road. The officer noted that while the car had stopped, it appeared as if the driver was stepping on the gas. The driver appeared to be confused while the officer was trying to communicate with him, the officer alleged. The driver reportedly began to put the car in gear again, so the officer banged on the window to get the driver’s attention. The driver, later identified as Bready, eventually rolled the window down and shut the car off. Bready allegedly slurred his words and had “extremely glassy and bloodshot” eyes. He agreed to a field sobriety test and was arrested. After an Intoxilyzer 5000 test, an additional aggravated DWI charge was added.

Holly A. Miller, 18, of Rumford Street in Concord, received a summons at 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2014, for unlawful possession of alcohol. Officers were sent to Rumford Street for a report of a pregnant teenager who was kicked in the stomach. The teen was taken to the hospital by fire and rescue teams. Officers spoke to others in the apartment with one female alleging that a man accidentally kneed or kicked the woman in the stomach but no one knew the man’s name. The officer was able to deduct who the man was and also learned that the teen had allegedly been drinking before the incident. The officer went to speak to the teen, Miller, at Concord Hospital. She reportedly stated that the man was falling and she tried to catch him and they both fell. She reportedly admitted to drinking two wine coolers and was issued a summons.

Jeffrey Duclair, 29, of Merrick Road in Raymond, received a summons at 9:10 p.m. on Dec. 31, for driving after revocation or suspension and disobeying traffic control devices after traveling west on the one-way portion of Washington Street from North Main Street. Duclair had his license suspended in January 2010. He’s due in court on Feb. 2.

Daniel P. Frost, 39, of Pitman Street in Concord, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. on Dec. 31, for driving while intoxicated. An officer was sent to look for an impaired driving on Hopkinton Road. The officer spotted the vehicle, a 2011 Honda Civic, near Pleasant and South Fruit streets and alleged it was driving “well below the posted 30 mph speed limit.” The vehicle almost struck a parked vehicle on Warren Street, according to the officer, who attempted to initiate a stop. The vehicle continued to drive onto Liberty Street but eventually came to stop at School Street. While talking to the driver, Frost, the officer didn’t notice any “common signs of alcohol impairment” but allegedly found him to be “very lethargic in his movements and slow in his speech.” Frost agreed to a field sobriety test and was arrested.

Matthew J. Higgins, 76, of North Main Street in Concord, was arrested at 5:46 p.m. on Dec. 31, on two driving while intoxicated charges after an accident at East Side Drive. A witness alleged that while attempting to turn on Broken Ground Drive, another vehicle crashed into her vehicle. The driver, she alleged, “attempted to leave the scene multiple times” but wasn’t able to, due to the damage to the vehicle. The officer approached the second driver, Higgins, and alleged that he smelled like alcohol, had glassy, glazed over eyes. He allegedly “continually laughed and had trouble keeping his eyes open while speaking,” the officer wrote. Higgins agreed to a field sobriety test and was arrested. During processing, he allegedly was “nodding off” and swaying constantly.”

Jessica F. Helfenstein, 45, of Peaceful Lane in Concord, received a summons at 1:55 p.m. on Dec. 31, on an operating without a valid license charge after a collision in the Storrs Street Market Basket parking lot. Her license expired on May 4, 2014. She’s due in court on Feb. 9.

Shannon M. Gibson, 38, of West Street in Concord, was arrested at 11:55 a.m. on Dec. 31, on a bench warrant for nonpayment of fines out of Concord District Court.

Brenda Summers, 54, of Coventry Court in Merrimack, was arrested at 5:31 p.m. on Dec. 27, and charged with two counts of forgery, both felonies, and a theft by deception charge. The charges stem from alleged incidents on Feb. 26, and Feb. 27, 2012, at Constantly Pizza on South Main Street in Concord, and Kentucky Fried Chicken on Loudon Road in Feb. 26, 2012. According to a report, in June 2014, an officer investigating the charges spoke to a probation officer who reported that Summers was being held in Pennsylvania and would be transferred to Concord at a later date. She was processed in December on the charges and is due in court on Feb. 2.
