Ephrem J. Micaiah, 48, of Poverty Lane in Lebanon was arrested at 1:51 a.m. on March 10 on criminal trespass and resisting arrest or detention charges. Officers were sent to the Holiday Inn on North Main Street for a report of a man refusing to leave the building, according to an affidavit. The first officer entered the hotel's lobby and saw Micaiah. He was asked why he was not leaving when asked and Micaiah claimed he was not asked to leave, the report stated. When asked if he had been previously trespassed from the hotel, he said, not to his knowledge, the affidavit stated. The officer spoke to a hotel employee who claimed Micaiah was asked to leave and refused, the affidavit said. He told her, "You'll have to call the cops," the hotel employee claimed. She also stated Micaiah was trespassed from the hotel. The officer checked and found Micaiah was served no trespass paperwork on Dec. 11, 2020, the report stated. Micaiah was arrested but the officer accused him of tensing up and resisting. When ordered to stop, Micaiah said, "Do you want to fight me?," according to the affidavit. Later, both officers were able to get him into handcuffs and take him to police headquarters. There, the reporting officer accused him of being uncooperative, and he was taken to county. Micaiah is due back in court on Aug. 16, on this as well as criminal trespass and breach of bail charges out of Concord and felony theft of services charge out of Sutton.
