Teen Driving Sedan Crashes Into Tractor-Trailer In Exeter

A two-vehicle crash Saturday morning injured a Greenville teenager as well as his passengers, according to state police.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Route 101 in Exeter. One vehicle — a 1998 Honda Civic — was traveling east when, "due to an unknown mechanical failure," the driver lost control of the car, police said. The Civic then veered into the path of a Freightliner tractor-trailer.

"The Freightliner impacted the Civic, which sent the Civic into the guardrail on the right side of the roadway," said Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A. "The Freightliner sheared through the guardrail and came to final rest approximately 50 feet off the roadway into the wood line."

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Trooper Harrison Walters of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A Barracks at 603-679-3333 or Harrison.Walters@dos.nh.gov.
