Man Accused Of Looking At Phone, Crashing Into Cruiser: Troopers

CONCORD, NH — A Plymouth man was cited after being accused of distracted driving and crashing into a New Hampshire State Police cruiser Saturday. Around 10:30 a.m. on Interstate 93 South in New Hampshire, a trooper parked his cruiser in the breakdown lane to help another party at a crash scene. The trooper was retrieving some emergency gear from the rear seat of his police SUV when he was "drawn to the sound of screeching tires as he observed a vehicle heading right for him and his cruiser," according to Staff Sgt. Steven Wheeler.

"Having only a second or two to react, (the) trooper jumped onto the cruiser running board as a vehicle sped by hitting the rear driver side door," Wheeler said. "This vehicle continued down the road for a distance before coming to final rest in the center median."

The driver, Eric Jenness, 33, of Plymouth, "told the investigating troopers that he had momentarily looked down at his cell phone and when he looked back up, he was heading for the cruiser, and could not avoid crashing into to it," according to a report. He was cited for use of mobile electronic devices while driving and motorist duties when approaching highway emergencies.

The highway was down to one lane for about 90 minutes. Ashland Fire and Rescue Department, New Hampton Fire and Rescue Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation all assisted at the scene.

Mass. Woman Arrested On DUI, Endangerment Charges

A woman with small children in her vehicle was arrested on numerous charges in Bow Feb. 2.

At around 10 p.m., a trooper stopped a vehicle on I-93 North for "several motor vehicle violations." The driver, Felicia Purcell, 29, of Webster, Massachusetts, was "determined to be under the influence," according to Sgt. Vincent Grieco of Troop D.

At the time, there were two children in the vehicle, according to Grieco. Purcell was charged with aggravated DUI-0.16+, two aggravated DUI-passenger under 16, and two endangering the welfare of a child charges.

Katelyn Lake, 24, of Albany, was arrested on Jan. 25 on possession of a controlled drug, false report to law enforcement, and unsworn falsification charges. Randolph Wilson, 27, of Auburn, Maine, was arrested on Jan. 24 on a possession of a controlled drug-sale, etc.-subsequent and falsifying physical evidence charges. He was arrested on Interstate 95 North on the Exit 7 offramp in Portsmouth.

Brandi MacLellan, 26, of Haverhill, MA, was arrested on Jan. 30 on aggravated DUI-30+ mph, DUI, speeding-21+ over 65 limit, resisting arrest or detention, and simple assault charges. She was arrested on I-93 South in Salem.

Jordan Cardinale, 33, of Nashua, was arrested on DUI, DUI-second offense, and driving after revocation or suspension charges on the Everett Turnpike North near Exit 4 in Nashua on Jan. 29.

Wildeny Tejeda-Mejia, 24, of Lynn, MA, was arrested on Jan. 29 on driving after revocation or suspension and speeding-26+ mph over the 55 or less limit charges on I-293 North in Manchester.

Amanda Maille, 32, of Manchester, was arrested on Jan. 29 on driving after revocation or suspension and suspension registration charges on Candia Road off Exit 6 in Manchester.

Stephen Hogan, 29, of Kennebunk, Maine, was arrested on Jan. 29 on aggravated DUI-30+ mph and DUI charges on I-93 North near Exit 6 in Manchester.

Nathan Parsons, 28, of Hubbardston, MA, was arrested on Jan. 25 on a DUI charge as well as a lane control violation and a bench warrant on I-93 South in Canterbury. A 29-year-old man from Fitchburg, MA, and a 28-year-old man from Phillipston, MA, were taken into protective custody.

Ryan Moore, 26, of Hudson, was arrested on Jan. 25 on two bench warrants on I-93 North near Exit 13 in Concord.

James Armstrong Jr., 46, of Campton, was arrested on Jan. 24 on felony habitual offender, reckless operation, two reckless conduct-deadly weapon, resisting arrest or detention, and two disobeying an officer charges as well as unsafe lane control and lane control violations on I-93 North in Concord.

Cassandra White, 50, of Manchester, was arrested on a reckless operation charge on Jan. 24 on I-93 North in New Hampton.

Corey Rogers, 34, of Penacook, was arrested on a driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charge on I-93 North in Bow.
