Paul P. Shumski, 49, of Millstone Drive in Concord, was arrested at 3:21 a.m. on May 24, 2016, for simple assault, criminal trespass, criminal threatening, and two counts of criminal mischief. Officers were called to Silk Farm Road for a domestic incident reportedly involving a woman’s ex-husband who showed up unannounced while she was sleeping and was allegedly belligerent. The man – Shumski – had reportedly since left the home. The officers spoke to the woman and her boyfriend about the incident. The woman, according to the reporting officer, didn’t seem to want to share all the details of the incident, due to “a long history of emotional abuse and violent outbreaks by Shumski.” Later, she alleged that Shumski was trespassing, her new boyfriend was punched in the face, and he yelled “I am going to kill you” and “you are dead” while attempting to strike the man a second time, according to the report. They later heard two or three “popping sounds,” thought it might be gunshots, but it turned out to be broken windows, they stated. After clearing the scene, the officers went to Shumski’s house where they spoke with him and he was arrested. He was arraigned that morning.

Officers were sent to the Cumberland Farms on Manchester Street for a report of two women that made a fraudulent transaction and were about to drive away in an SUV. An officer spoke to the women in the parking lot while another officer spoke with a clerk who alleged that one passed a counterfeit $20 bill. She allegedly told officers that she was just at McDonald’s Restaurant on South Main Street, made a purchase with a $50 bill, and received the two $20 bills as change. Galloway was arrested on the driving charge but after being interviewed and realizing there were alleged “similar incidents,” according to a detective, more charges were added and police applied for a search warrant for the vehicle.
