CONCORD, NH — A Washington state resident was arrested on a reckless driving charge Saturday not far from where seven motorcyclists died earlier this year. A state trooper monitoring traffic on Route 2 in Randolph reportedly clocked a Ford Mustang driving 111 mph in a 55 mph zone. The operator, Dingming Zhou, 25, of Washington state, was pulled over and arrested.

Zhou is due in Berlin Circuit Court on Dec. 17.

"There were no passengers in Zhou's vehicle, however traffic in the area was extremely heavy due to folks visiting the area for the memorial service as well as regular tourists visiting to view the foliage," said Staff Sgt. Victor Muzzey of Troop F. "The roadways in northern New Hampshire are very busy this time of year and the New Hampshire State Police would like to thank you for your assistance in driving safely and obeying speed limits and traffic signs to help keep New Hampshire safe."

Ashwayne Rose, 19, of Manchester, was arrested after state police were sent to a report of a crash on I-93 South in Hooksett just south of the tolls.

Rose, who was driving a Honda Accord, "was traveling southbound on Interstate 93 when he attempted to cross several lanes of heavy traffic," according to Lt. Bryan Trask of Troop B.

"This movement was reported to be at less than 5 mph and in a perpendicular manner to oncoming traffic," he said.

The driving by Rose, according to state police, caused the driver of a Freightliner truck, being driven by a 34-year-old man from Hebron, to collide with the Accord. Another truck, a cement mixer, being driven by a 30-year-old Goffstown man, attempted to avoid the crash between the truck and Accord, swerved to the right, and rolled down an embankment, according Trask.

The driver of the cement truck was extricated from the vehicle by first responders.

Assisting state police were Concord EMTs, Hooksett Fire and Rescue, and New Hampshire Fish & Game.

This accident remains under investigation by Trooper Gilary Rosario. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Rosario of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks at Gilary.Rosario@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-3481.
