Safety First On The Fourth Of July, Arrests, And More: Roundup
NHSP: Don't drink and drive; if you see something, say something; ensure NH "Drives Towards Zero." Plus, teens in trouble; DUI arrests.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police kickoff the July 4th Holiday C.A.R.E. Life Saver Week next week in an effort to encourage safe driving and behavior in the Granite State this week and holiday weekend. Tens of thousands of people will be in the Granite State and the state police are committed to ensuring that both residents and visitors will be safe this weekend. Patrols will be added using laser, radar, and aircraft, along with conventional state trooper patrols, in an effort to find aggressive and impaired drivers.
"Please… buckle up, don't mix alcohol and or drugs with driving, don't drive distracted, and slow down," stated Capt. Jeffrey Ladieu of the NHSP. "Saving lives on our roadways is a top priority and we need everyone’s help to do it."
State police, along with local and county officials are "Driving Towards Zero" – meaning zero fatalities in New Hampshire. Some simple steps – like finding a designated, sober driver or planning a safe way home before festivities – are ways residents and visitors can enjoy a safe holiday weekend without jeopardizing their lives.
