Troopers Arrest Fake Cop On Stalking, Prowling, Other Charges: Roundup
Plus: Fatal crash on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth, trooper assist owl in Meredith, and blotters from around New Hampshire.

CONCORD, NH — A man from Salisbury was arrested on Feb. 25 and accused of impersonating a police officer and stalking.
New Hampshire State Police troopers were sent to a home in the town after receiving a report from a woman stating she was receiving text messages from someone purporting to be a state police captain. The text messages appeared to be “attempting to gain information” from the woman, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for state police, said. The complainant also stated the messages claimed she was being watched and monitored, a report stated.
“The suspect was able to text particular things that led the female to believe the suspect was currently watching her,” Lagace said. “The person messaging this female was not a member of the State Police or any other law enforcement agency.”

While eyeing the text messages, the woman also saw an unknown person around her house, looking in a window, an interaction that was caught on camera. Troopers, however, were unable to find the person on the property. An investigation, however, led to a suspect, Jerry Williams, 46, of Salisbury. A warrant was issued against him and he was arrested later on felony false personation, harassment, stalking, criminal trespass, and loitering-prowling charges.
Anyone with information about this incident was asked to contact Trooper Tyler Griffin at 603-451‐9313 or Tyler.L.Griffin@dos.nh.gov.
