CONCORD, NH — A Missouri man with a history of violence in several states is facing numerous charges after being arrested twice in eight days in the Granite State, according to New Hampshire State Police and police in Lisbon. Ryan Crittenden, 37, pictured, was arrested on May 17, 2019, on two counts of simple assault on a police officer, and single counts of resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of government, and disorderly conduct. On May 25, he was arrested by NHSP on violation of a protective order charge.

In the first incident, according to the Caledonian Record, officers were called to a home on West Street in Lisbon after receiving a noise complaint about "a drunken man playing loud music." The man – Crittenden – reportedly got into a scuffle with a neighbor about loud music and then, poured beer on the neighbor's door, windows, and porch, the report alleged.

As a female officer from Lisbon was taking a statement from the complainant, Crittenden approached the scene and allegedly began commenting about how "sexy" she was. His girlfriend – Melissa Perry – who was renting the Lisbon home, is accused in the report of flipping him off, angered by the "sexy" statement. He reportedly admitted to drinking and stated that in St. Louis, where he was from, no one had a problem with loud music. Crittenden also told the officer that he might have active warrants in Texas, California, and Missouri, the report noted.

Another officer from Sugar Hill began speaking with Crittenden and he allegedly said the officers were being racist and called his mother to complain about being questioned. After some back and forth, including the officers speaking to his mother on a cellphone, they attempted to take Crittenden into custody. During the course of that process, they accused Crittenden of striking the female officer in the cheek and nose, and twisting her fingers of the female officer during the arrest. The other officer was reportedly shoved and struck in the face below the left eye.

Crittenden also had an active warrant from the Derry Police Department on a contempt charge. He was arrested in that community in October 2018, on a domestic assault charge, according to the Derry News.

At just before 7 p.m. on May 25, state troopers were called to the northbound side of I-93 in Bow for a report of a "rolling domestic" – an assault incident inside a moving vehicle, a Nissan Sentra. Dispatch reported that the owner of the vehicle, Perry, had an active protective order against Crittenden out of Rhode Island. The vehicle was stopped and the pair were questioned. Crittenden accused Perry of assaulting him and after investigating the incident, she was arrested.

State police were unable to confirm the protective order so Crittenden was released and given a courtesy ride to the McDonald's Restaurant on South Main Street in Concord, an affidavit stated.

About 90 minutes later though, NHSP were able to confirm the order was active and went to McDonald's to see if Crittenden was still there. Troopers found him on the sidewalk, arrested him, and he was held without bail. Crittenden was arraigned on May 28.

Back in March, according to the Woonsocket Call in RI, Crittenden was arrested on domestic violence by strangulation, domestic assault and battery, violation of a protective order, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, obstructing police, resisting arrest, and being a fugitive from Missouri on domestic violence charges after an officer reportedly clocked a vehicle he was driving at 60 mph on a city street. Crittenden drove to his apartment on East School Street where he is accused of yelling at an officer, "If you want to shoot it out, we'll (blanking) shoot it out." In the apartment, Crittenden was arrested but found no weapons. Officers also found a woman with visible assault injuries.

According to the reports, Crittenden has a history of violence and has also been arrested on first- and second-degree assaults, armed robbery, and other charges.

After Crash, Truck Driver Keeps Driving

A hauler from Texas was taken out of service last week after reportedly continuing to drive a damaged trailer after an accident. At just before 12:30 p.m. on June 18, state police received a report of a truck driving east on Route 101 with a damaged trailer – that appeared to be off center as it was driving down the highway. The vehicle was stopped in Candia.

Other state troopers from Troop G, that have "specialized training to conduct roadside inspections of commercial motor vehicles," according to Lt. Andrew Player from the NHSP, arrived at the scene and inspected the truck. The driver – Edward Garcia, 29, of Pasadena, TX – reportedly told state police he struck a guardrail in the area of Hillsboro, which caused damage to the trailer. A report stated that Garcia informed troopers that he had the tires replaced but continued to drive the truck even though the trailer's frame had been damaged.

Both the truck and Garcia were placed out of service after it was reportedly discovered that his electronic logging device had been falsified.
