On Saturday, Southold Town Police continued their search, but were not able to find him, according to SoutholdLocal.

“We searched the shoreline from Southold to Orient on both the bay and Sound sides in police boats without locating anything of value in this investigation,” Police Chief Martin Flatley told SoutholdLocal.

On Thursday, police reported that they found O’Brien’s car parked at the Cross Sound Ferry parking lot in Orient Point and proceed to conduct an extensive search of the Orient Point area deploying Suffolk County Police Department Aviation, Marine Units and All-Terrain vehicles with negative results.

On Friday, police and family members found security footage from the Cross Sound Ferry that appeared to have shown O’Brien park his car at the terminal and walking east towards the beach area on Sunday evening, according to The Suffolk Times.

Police said that while the footage shows he left his pickup truck, it does not appear as though he got on a ferryboat, The Suffolk Times reports.

“We’re fairly confident that he walked away from that vehicle but did not get into any other vehicles,” Flatley told The Suffolk Times.
