UPDATE: Missing Bayport Man Found Safe

Theodore Bevers suffers from dementia, police say.

UPDATE: Bevers has been located unharmed, according to police.

The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Bayport man who suffers from dementia and may not have taken his medication.

Theodore Bevers, 72, who goes by Al, was last seen leaving his residence at 37 Locust St. at about 7 a.m. Saturday. Detectives have reason to believe Bevers was driven to the Sayville branch of the Long Island Rail Road and was headed into Manhattan.

Bevers is described as white, 5-foot-8, 199 pounds, balding with gray hair. He was last seen wearing a light brown hooded-sweatshirt, dark blue sweatpants and blue canvass sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552 or 911.
