NEWTOWN, PA — Take a drive through the Village at Newtown shopping center and it's no secret there are big changes on the way. The shopping center is in the middle of a major reconstruction and renovation, and that has big implications for where you'll be dining and shopping in the near future.

Bomba Tacos & Rum

Bomba Tacos & Rum, an Ohio-based Latin-style restaurant and bar, will be opening its first Pennsylvania location in the Village at Newtown. The restaurant will be located in the new building along Durham Road that is currently under construction. The establishment recently received liquor license transfer approval from the township. Chipotle
The fast-casual Mexican restaurant will be opening a 2,500-square-foot restaurant, also in the building under construction at the shopping center. The restaurant will have outdoor seating. This will be the chain's fifth Bucks County location. Other Chipotle restaurants in Bucks County are located in Warrington, Doylestown, Trevose, and Warminster. Learn more.
Factory Donuts
Factory Donuts representatives said recently they're aiming for a late July opening. The shop will be located on the McCaffrey's side of the shopping center, near Oishi and GNC. Factory Donuts is a popular spot in Philadelphia, where patrons line up for creative made-to-order combinations, including maple bacon explosion, s'mores, cookies n' cream, french toast, and blueberry bake. MOD Pizza
MOD Pizza is opening in the shopping center at the end of 2019. The restaurant will be located in a 2,800-square-foot space and is scheduled to open sometime in the fourth quarter of the year, said Brixmor Property Group spokesperson Kristen Moore. Learn more.
Iron Hill Brewery
Iron Hill Brewery has received liquor license transfer approval from the township. The brewery operates brewpubs that serve craft beers and food at more than a dozen locations across the region. The Newtown location will be in the shopping center's new building. Learn more.
Solstice
Solstice — a sub-franchise of Shula's Steakhouse — has been granted conditional use approval to open a 6,700-square-foot restaurant in the shopping center. The restaurant will be located in a new building along Durham Road that is currently under construction. Learn more.
Cherry Blow Dry Bar
Cherry Blow Dry Bar, which operates dozens of blow dry bars across the country, is planning an October opening in Newtown. The business launched in 2013 and promises to provide "glam styling services at affordable prices." Learn more.

Fuse Barbershop
Fuse Barbershop, located in the portion of the shopping center near Nothing Bundt Cakes and School of Rock, offers haircuts, straight razor shaves, beard services, long layer cuts, color treatments, and more. The business was modeled after a Southern-California-style barbershop and has a casual, laid-back atmosphere. Learn more.

Melt Shop opened its third Pennsylvania restaurant at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center in June. Dishes include include chicken melts, burger melts, maple bacon grilled cheeses, salads, milkshakes, and house-made chicken tenders. Learn more.

Naked Chocolate sells a variety of gourmet chocolate products, including hot chocolate, unique chocolate bars, bon bons, salted caramels, and truffles. The shop is located in the section of the shopping center that is currently home to Nothing Bundt Cakes and Pet Valu. Learn more.
