FAIRFAX CITY, VA — For 20 years, Bellissimo Restaurant has been serving delicious Italian food to the residents of Fairfax City.

"We are a small, cozy, neighborhood restaurant that strives to be a place where people can come, relax and enjoy scrumptious food in a beautiful setting," said Mary Killay Lavayen, who owns the restaurant with her husband Omar and their three children, Patrick, Andrew and Katharine.

Bellissimo Restaurant is one of the 24 restaurants and bars in Fairfax City that will be participating in the 2024 Restaurant Week, which runs from Feb. 26 through March 3.

"Restaurant Week is that nudge our residents get twice a year that says dining out is a community event. Trying new restaurants, or trying new offerings at favorite places, is something we can do together and we invite other people to join us too,” said Fairfax City Mayor, Catherine Read. “Dining in the city can be a culinary trip around the world without needing a passport.”

When asked what she was looking forward to the most during Restaurant Week, Mary Killay Lavayen replied that she loves getting the word out to more people about Bellissimo. She also enjoys meeting new people in the community.

Specializing in seafood, veal and homemade pasta, Bellissimo Restaurant is located at 10403 Main St. in Fairfax. More information is available on the restaurant's website.

In its seventh year, Restaurant Week is sponsored by the Fairfax City Economic Development Authority, the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and the Old Town Fairfax Business Association
