Fairfax City Candidate Forum at Sherwood Center Wednesday Night
Two Fairfax City civic associations are hosting a candidates forum Wednesday night at the Sherwood Community Center.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The Cobbdale and Old Lee Hills civic associations are hosing a candidate forum Wednesday night. The event will provide voters an opportunity to meet candidates running in the mayoral, city council, and school board races in the Nov. 8 general election.
The forum will be 7- 9 p.m., at the Sherwood Community Center, which is located at 3740 Old Lee Highway in Fairfax. The League of Women Voters of Fairfax will moderate the event and attendees will be able to submit written questions to the candidates.
In addition to the 11th District congressional race, which features incumbent Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Fairfax) facing Republican challenger Jim Myles, the following candidates are on the ballot in Fairfax City:

Fairfax City races are nonpartisan and candidates are running as independents, in accordance with the city charter.
City residents registered to vote in Virginia can vote in the election by visiting their polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote. To check your polling place, visit vote.elections.virginia.gov or see maps of precincts in Fairfax County and in Fairfax City.
Early voting at Fairfax City Hall started on Sept. 23 and continues through Saturday, Nov. 5. The polls are open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The polls will also be open Saturday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 3, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
