The Patch Voter's Guide For the Branford 2021 Election

What you need to know today about the 2021 Branford election including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

BRANFORD, CT —Tuesday, Branford voters go to the polls to decide who will be sworn in to myriad town offices. The contested races are First Selectman, Board of Selectmen, Representative Town Meeting, Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Tax Collector, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, and Town Constables.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters, standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.

The choice for First Selectman is Democrat Tom Brockett and Republican James B. Cosgrove.


The choice for Board of Selectman is Democrat Raymond E. Dunbar and Republican Angela Higgins.


The choice for Town Clerk is Democrat Eileen Poulton Cimino and Republican Lisa E. Arpin.


The choice for Tax Collector is Democrat Roberta Gill-Brooks and Republican Robert Imperato


The choice for Town Treasurer is Democrat Kurt Schwanfelder and Republican Deborah Conklin.


The choices for Town Constables are Democrats Georgette Tootsie Laske, Chuck Tiernan, Francis Walsh, John R. O’Connor and Republicans Kyle Nelson, George Weted, Dennis Nardella and Gino Popolizio.
