MA Patch Daily: Tragic Crashes, a 'Creepy' Collector, Alleged Threats, and Illegal Fireworks
Plus, a woman's inspirational story, a soccer coach vents, canine flu, busy firefighters and police, and more.

As everyone who knows the news business knows, even during a holiday weekend, the gathering of important information never stops. And while the editorial team working on the Bay State’s 80+ news and community websites enjoyed a bit of time off with families and friends this weekend, just like you, they were also working on posts that you may have missed. Here are some of them.
On Massachusetts’ roadways this weekend, there were a few tragedies, including this situation where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a boat trailer. These folks had fun protesting Tom Brady’s suspension at Gillette Stadium yesterday. This woman was described as “creepy” for collecting recyclables and leaving her cart on other people’s lawns. It’s time to party … under a bridge? Ice cream trucks – three of them this time – continue to cause traffic headaches in this community. A man was arrested after a standoff with police for allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend and her children. A woman was charged after allegedly breaking into a vehicle in a church parking lot yesterday. A man sustained burns in a home fire this weekend. If you saw a parent allowing their child to drive a car, would you drop a dime, too? Next month, this woman will share her inspirational story of how she became the first Ethiopian woman to earn a doctorate in Israel. An elderly man from Mass. was charged with illegally selling fireworks in New Hampshire. And Gov. Baker and Lt. Gov. Politio issued a Memorial Day message with an inspirational video, too.
