CONCORD, NH — April A. Gardner, 32, of Concord was arrested at 3:20 a.m. on Nov. 16, 2020, on a theft by unauthorized taking charge, a felony due to two prior convictions after an incident at Milano's Mini Market on Broadway.

Darren Arthur Gero, 24, of Concord was arrested at 6:09 p.m. on Nov. 15 on a violation of a protective order charge. Police were sent to South Main Street for a report of a possible temporary protection order violation. An officer spoke with the complainant and she accused Gero of posting a comment on her Instagram page even though he was prohibited from having contact with her, according to an affidavit. The officer viewed the account, the message, and the time stamp of the post, and checked the account that made the post, and confirmed it was Gero, the report said, based on the name underneath the account and photos posted. "The account appeared legitimate and did not look like it was hacked," the officer wrote. The officer then confirmed that there was an active order and visited with Gero, the report said. While speaking with Gero in the breezeway of an apartment building, the reporting officer accused him of knowing that they were there due to the restraining order violation and he said he had $40 cash for the bail commissioner. Initially, Gero denied writing the note, the affidavit said, but later, admitted to posting the comment. He was then arrested. During processing, the reporting officer accused Gero of saying, "You know something? This isn't that bad. If this is all that's gonna happen to me, I'll just violate it again and give her flowers next time." The officer reminded Gero to follow the order, the report said. Gero refused bail and was held.
