Deerfield Teen Indicted On Baby Assault Charges: Court Roundup

Lawrence man indicted on Chichester sexual assault; felon with priors indicted on Concord burglary charge; thief indicted on new charges.

CONCORD, NH — A Merrimack County grand jury indicted the following people recently.

Scott Schmid, 39, of Horseshoe Pond Lane in Concord on a felony possession of fentanyl charge on Oct. 8, 2022, in Concord.

Adrian Surun, 32, of Garden Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on a felony felonious sexual assault charge. He was accused of raping a teenager in Chichester on Dec. 30, 2021.

Brennan M. Szanto, 36, of South Emperor Drive in Concord on burglary, and theft by unauthorized taking and receiving stolen property, felonies due to two prior convictions. He was accused of burglarizing a dwelling in Concord on Jan. 14, stealing items from one person, and possessing a stolen bike owned by another person. Szanto was previously convicted on theft charges in Franklin District Court in November 2007 and theft in Merrimack County Superior Court in December 2015.

Timothy David Kenneth Thompson, 18, of Griffin Road in Deerfield on two felony second-degree assault-victim under 12-domestic violence charges. He was accused of fracturing the radius and ulna bone of a newborn on Feb. 12 in Concord.

Frankie J. Turner, 37, of Maple Street in Center Barnstead on a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge. He was accused of stealing $7 worth of merchandise from Bell Brothers Convenience Store in Pittsfield on July 1. Twice before, according to the indictment, Turner was convicted on theft in both Belknap and Merrimack County superior courts in March.

Ian Vadnais, 35, of Blevens Drive in Manchester on a felony operating after certification as a habitual offender charge. He was accused of driving a Toyota on Route 103 in Newbury on May 24 after being certified as a habitual offender by the NH DMV.
