NHSP Make Arrests During NH Sobriety Checkpoint
More than 300 vehicles were checked in Bristol last night and this morning, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

BRISTOL, NH – Eight people were arrested during a sobriety checkpoint that began last night and ran through the early morning hours this morning in Bristol. According to New Hampshire State Police, 316 vehicles were checked on Route 104 near Ayers Island Road between the hours of 10 p.m. on July 2, 2016, and 2 a.m. on July 3.
Eleven operators submitted to field sobriety tests and two were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. They are: Paul Hubert, 65, of Ashland; and Wendy Clark, 44, of Bristol.

Five others – Tyler Roberts, 23, Cody Amaral, 23, and Jenna Devoll, 23, all of Fall River, MA; Garreth Lynch, 38, of Bridgewater; and Morgan Stubbs, 19, of Bristol – were arrested on drug-related offenses, according to an alert.

Everyone arrested is due in Plymouth District Court in the coming months, according to state police.
“This checkpoint was conducted pursuant to an order made by Justice Lawrence A. MacLeod, Jr. of the Grafton County Superior Court on June 14, 2016,” according to Sgt. Victor Muzzey of the NHSP. “The order was issued in response to an application by the New Hampshire State Police to perform the checkpoint as an efficient means to deter and apprehend impaired motorists.”

Muzzey added that the New Hampshire State Police and Bristol Police Department were committed to taking an aggressive stance in utilizing sobriety checkpoints as a tool to deter and arrest intoxicated drivers and they were dedicated to using those tools to ensure safe travel throughout the state.
