Homeless Concord Felon Arrested On Knife Threat, Other Charges After Market Basket Robbery: Follow-Up
Ronald Delgaudio, convicted of sexually assaulting a teenager in Florida in the 1990s, was arrested Wednesday night on South Main Street.
CONCORD, NH — A homeless felon and Florida sex offender, now located in Concord, was arrested on Wednesday night, accused of robbery at the Fort Eddy Road Market Basket on Tuesday afternoon.
Ronald Delgaudio, 54, was arrested on robbery, convicted felons, and two criminal threatening charges, all felonies, as well as theft by unauthorized taking and willful concealment charges. At the time of the arrest, he also had an active warrant.
Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were sent to the store for a report of a robbery with a knife during the incident. The suspect reportedly left the store without paying for merchandise. A store employee confronted the suspect and he flashed a knife by his side before fleeing the area toward Planet Fitness and Interstate 393.

According to a court affidavit, the suspect was within arm’s reach of the store employee when he pulled the knife out.
The robbery reportedly involved a sandwich and some ice cream, according to scanner chatter. According to a court affidavit, the items were valued at $7.99, and the sandwich was recovered.

Police quickly identified the suspect as Delgaudio after circulating surveillance footage from the store, Lt. Thomas Yerkes of the department’s bureau of investigations confirmed on Thursday. New Hampshire State Police and Merrimack County Sheriff’s Department deputies began searching the grounds NHTI, Concord’s community college, as well as Constitution Avenue near the Friendly Kitchen, underneath the I-393 bridges, and other areas of the North End and Downtown areas of the city. Without being requested, state police quickly deployed a K-9 unit to the area, according to scanner chatter.
“Officers checked the area and were unable to immediately locate the subject,” Yerkes said. “Officers subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for the subject. Based on the information obtained at the scene, this was determined to be an isolated incident and there was no danger to the public related to this matter.”

Around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, Delgaudio was spotted on South Main Street, arrested and processed, and then taken to county. He was arraigned by video in Concord District Court on Thursday morning. At the arraignment, the concealment charge was elevated to a felony due to a third offense within 36 months, according to court paperwork.
Concord District Court Judge Ryan Guptill also determined there was probable cause to move forward with the case on Thursday. He is due back in court on July 1 for a probable cause hearing.

Prior Arrests And Convictions
Delgaudio’s criminal history dates back to the mid-1990s, after he was convicted in Florida on a felonious sexual assault of a victim 13 or older and under 16, with an age difference of more than three years, in Naples 20th Circuit Court.
During the past 15 years, he has been arrested and convicted several times in New Hampshire, including on drug possession, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated, criminal trespass, willful concealment, and sex offender charges, according to the state.
According to superior court records, he was accused of driving while intoxicated, conduct after an accident, and acts prohibited after a crash in Concord in May 2020. He was also charged with registration of sex offenders; duty to report. About five months later, he pleaded guilty to all the charges and received suspended sentences, as well as a 12-month jail sentence on the duty-to-report charge, with 174 days of time-served credit.
In March 2022, Delgaudio was accused again of duty to report as well as a failure to comply; knowing-subsequent charge. The failure to comply charge was nolle prossed as part of a plea and the duty to report charge was dismissed without prejudice in February 2023.
Last year, Delgaudio was accused of drug possession and criminal trespass in Concord, acts prohibited, driving after revocation, and transport drugs in a motor vehicle in Concord, acts prohibited, loitering or prowling, and breach of bail in Concord, acts prohibited and criminal trespass in Concord, and possession of a controlled drug and breach of bail in Concord. Although he faced multiple 12-month sentences and $2,480 in fines, Delgaudio received suspended sentences on all charges except the prohibited acts, breach of bail, and loitering or prowling charges. He was in jail for 37 days. The fines were also suspended, according to court documents.
