Newcomer To Concord, Concerned Father Both Seek Zone A School Seat
Watch: Jess Campbell and Michael Guglielmo are running for the open seat to serve Ward 1, 2, 3, 4 residents on the SAU 8 Board of Education.

CONCORD, NH — Four people are on the ballot for the open Zone A SAU Concord board of education seat, but only two candidates are competing for votes.
Jess Campbell and Michael Guglielmo both want to serve on the school board representing the residents of Ward 1, 2, 3, and 4 for a three-year term. Two other candidates, Robert Avery and Kristen Jackson, are on the ballot but have dropped out of the race. Jackson endorsed Guglielmo just before the debate (the letter is linked below).
During the forum, Guglielmo was asked about recent and past criminal charges, while Campbell was asked how she would represent about two-thirds of the district who may disagree with her on liberal social issues.

The candidates were also asked about a new middle school project — including finances and siting, possibly interviewing for a new school superintendent in the future, dress codes for educators or employees, school resource officers and suspension concerns, budget issues, and other school issues.
