NH State Police Investigate Crashes: News And Blotter Roundup

CONCORD, NH — State troopers from Troop D in Concord were sent to Route 11 in Andover on Sept. 13, 2017, for a report of a crash between a motorcycle and box truck. When they arrived at the scene, Andover Fire and Rescue teams were assisting the motorcyclist. An investigation into the crash reportedly revealed that for some unknown reason, the motorcyclist suddenly crossed into the center lane into the travel lane of a subcontracted box truck for the U.S. Postal Service, which was traveling west.

“The operator of the box truck swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid the crash, but the motorcycle crashed into the rear driver’s side of the box truck resulting in fatal injuries,” according to Sgt. The road was closed for around 3.5 hours while traffic was diverted around the crash scene. Assisting Andover firefighters as well as state police were New London Fire and Rescue teams.

The NHSP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying any other witnesses to the crash or the vehicles actions prior to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Raymond at 603-271-1162.

Logging Truck Strikes Bridge Sign

On Sept. 9, troopers from Troop A were sent to the area of Exit 8 for a single-vehicle crash. An International logging truck with a boom being driven by a Barnstead man crashed into an exit sign attached to a bridge.

“(The) on scene investigation showed the boom wasn’t fully secured resulting in it hitting the sign and bridge as it proceeded northbound underneath the overpass,” according to Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A. “There were no injuries reported. The right lane in that general area was closed for several hours to remove the boom, debris, sign and for NH DOT Bridge Maintenance to inspect the bridge.”

Eric Murphy, 54, of Ashland, ME, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, and charged with possession of a controlled drug-cocaine and possession of a controlled drug-other; sale after a stop on I-95 North in Portsmouth.

Corey Kapsimalis, 30, of Barrington, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2017, for aggravated DUI-passenger under 16, DUI, and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle on I-95 South near Exit 5 in Portsmouth.

Michael Dailey, 34, of Waltham, MA, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2017, for controlled drug; controlled premises and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Route 16 North between Exit 3 and Exit 4 in Newington.

Tiffany McCorry, 37, of North Reading, MA, was arrested on Ocean Boulevard in Hampton at 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2017, for DUI.

Patrick Shankour, 23, of Tewksbury, MA, was arrested for DUI at 12:24 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2017, on Route 1A in Seabrook.

Jason Dumont, 48, of Newburyport, MA, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for DUI. He was arrested on Route 1A in Seabrook.

John Cassidy, 57, of Lee, was arrested at 11:57 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for DUI and DUI-second or third after a stop on Route 101 West in Hampton.

Sheila Metayer, 51, of Salem, was arrested at 11:05 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for DUI and DUI-adult greater than 0.08 on Route 1A in Seabrook.

Christopher Schutz, 44, of Somerville, MA, was arrested at 11:05 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for DUI. He was arrested on Route 1A in Seabrook.

Tracilyn Fortin, 46, of Farmington, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent and suspension of vehicle registration. She was arrested on Route 16 South in Rochester.

Troop B Blotter

Joaquin Lopez, 36, of Manchester, was arrested at noon on Aug. 31, 2017, for driving after revocation-subsequent and disobeying an officer. He was arrested on I-93 South in Windham.

Faisal Alsobaei, 24, of Manchester, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2017, for driving after revocation and disobeying an officer after a stop on I-293 North in Manchester.

Samantha Kight, 23, of Goffstown, was arrested at 5:52 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2017, for driving after revocation or suspension and suspension of vehicle registration. She was arrested on I-93 North near the Exit 5 off-ramp in Londonderry.

Lauren Hettler, 33, of Nashua, was arrested at 7:55 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, for suspension of vehicle registration and driving after revocation or suspension on the Everett Turnpike North in Merrimack.

Jarrod Grondin, 23, of Lancaster, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, for possession of a controlled drug on I-93 South at the lower split in Manchester.

Brandon Bernard, 30, of Manchester, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2017, for aggravated DUI after a collision with serious injury on I-293 South at Exit 4 in Manchester.

Adrian Recillas Figueroa, 40, of Nashua, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2-17, for DUI-second or third and resisting arrest or detention. He was arrested on the Everett Turnpike North in Nashua.

Benjamin Magdziarz, 22, of Manchester, was arrested at 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for criminal threatening-deadly weapon. He was arrested on East Road in Weare.

Troop D Blotter

Alissa Philpot, 26, of Laconia, was arrested at 8 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2017, for habitual offender and unsafe lane change. She was arrested on I-93 North in Concord.

Daniel Lepine, 31, of White River Junction, VT, was arrested at 2:32 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2017, for driving after revocation or suspension.

Ryan Mahan, 22, of Hollis, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, for speeding – 16 to 20 mph over 70 limit, disobeying an officer, and resisting arrest or detention. He was arrested on I-93 North in Northfield.

Zachary Remillard, 21, of Webster, was arrested at 9:35 a.m. on Aug. 28, 2017, for possession of marijuana on I-93 North in Canterbury.

Marc Devoe, 34, of Peabody, MA, was arrested at 1:38 a.m. on Aug. 27, 2017, on two counts of possession of narcotic drugs and possession of marijuana on I-93 South in Concord.

Sharif Muse, 20, of Burlington, VT, was arrested at 1:06 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2017, for driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent.

Paul M. Palmer, 84, of Concord, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for stalking and breach of bail. He was arrested at the I-89 park and ride in Concord. Also taken into protective custody due to drug intoxication was Devan Jordan, 26, of Concord.

Other NHSP Arrests

Jesse Moran, 24, of West Ossipee, was arrested at 12:08 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2017, for possession of marijuana, open container, and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle on Route 16 in Ossipee. Also charged were Joseph Asaro, 18, of Winchester, MA, and Sydney Roberge, 18, of Effingham, for unlawful possession/intoxicated.

Yisroel Lezer, 22, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, for speeding – 21+ mph over 70 limit, reckless operating, endangering the welfare of a child, and child restraints on I-93 North in Campton.

Jared Fellows, 31, of Epsom, was arrested at 10:13 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2017, for burglary. He was arrested on Route 123 North in Stoddard.

Dana Holtzman, 21, of Sharon, MA, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2017, for possession of marijuana and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle.

John Sullivan, 50, of North Sutton, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2017, for DUI and yellow/solid line violation on Route 11 in Sunapee.

Chad Trombley, 37, of Westmoreland, was arrested at 6:15 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2017, for DUI-second or third, conduct after an accident, and open container on Route 12 in Westmoreland.

Christian Gavidia, 21, of Winthrop, MA, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for reckless operation on I-93 North in Ashland.

Seth Stephens, 27, of Nashua, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2017, for possession of methamphetamine on Route 3 in Belmont.
