Around 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 24, 2020, officers were sent to Royal Gardens for a theft call. A complainant stated her child’s Chromebook, given to them by the Concord School District, was stolen. The caller suspected Jacobs, a report said. He came by the home to drop off gifts but during the interaction, the computer had disappeared, according to an affidavit. The charging cord, however, was on the floor in another section of the apartment. The complainant attempted to reach out to Jacobs about the missing computer repeatedly but he refused to answer her communications, the report stated. Four days later, she told the officer, Jacobs confirmed he had the computer and would return it, according to a screenshot photo and an affidavit. Jacobs was arrested on Sept. 26, 2020, on criminal trespass and breach of bail charges as well as a warrant. When speaking to that arresting officer about the warrant, Jacobs was accused of saying the only thing that he might be in trouble for was “that someone gave him a stolen computer device.” A warrant for his arrest was issued on Oct. 30, 2020.
