New Jersey Man Clocked At 142 MPH, Arrested: NHSP Roundup

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police Enforcement Unit arrested a New Jersey man on a reckless driving charge after accusing him of driving 142 mph on I-95 South on Saturday. State police monitoring traffic from the sky at just after 8 a.m. saw a Jeep Grand Cherokee "traveling at an extremely high rate of speed" and "clocked it at 142 mph in a posted 65 mph speed zone," according to Lt. Sean Haggerty of the NHSP. Troopers on the ground were radioed and the vehicle was stopped in Greenland.
The driver – Eric Joseph, 51, of Short Hills, NJ – was asked why he was traveling at that speed.
"Joseph stated that he was traveling home to New Jersey," Haggerty said.

Joseph is due in Portsmouth Circuit Court on Sept. 23, 2019.

The Office of State Fire Marshal announced on Friday that Guy Wheeler, 57, of Salisbury, pleaded guilty on July 18, on four felony counts of arson, burglary, criminal mischief, and reckless conduct in Merrimack County Superior Court. On Dec. 3, 2018, he set fire to a home on Rose Lane in Franklin.
Home surveillance recordings captured the incident on video as a man burglarized the home and then, set fire to it. Wheeler was arrested a few weeks after the incident.
Wheeler will serve five to 10 years in the New Hampshire State Prison for men and pay restitution on the arson charge. The other charges were suspended 10 years upon release.

Matthew Marcotte, 27, of Salem, Massachusetts, was arrested on June 30, on a DUI charge on Route 101 East in Hampton.
Daniel Beaulieu, 50, of York, ME, was arrested on June 30, on a DUI charge on I-95 North before the Hampton tolls.
John Buccelli, 57, of Somerville, MA, was arrested on a DUI charge on July 29, on Route 1A North in Hampton.
Sean White, 22, of Rowley, MA, was arrested on June 29, on DUI and speeding – 26+ mph over the limit of 55 or less charges as well as a yellow/solid line violation on Route 101 West at I-95 in Hampton.
David Stankiewicz, 38, of Peabody, MA, was arrested on June 28, and charged with DUI-third incident, driving after revocation or suspension, driving without giving proof, and failure to keep right at a rotary on Ashworth Avenue at J Street in Hampton.
Tyrese Ferreras, 18, of Lowell, MA, was arrested on June 28, on a transport alcohol by a minor charge and a failure to dim lights violation. A 17-year-old from Lowell, MA, was also charged with unlawful possession/intoxication after an incident on Route 1A at Hooksett Street in Seabrook.
Jasmine Harnden, 25, of Rochester, was arrested on June 28, on a bench warrant on Route 16 North before Exit 14 in Rochester.
