CONCORD, NH — The following people were indicted recently in Merrimack County Superior Court.
Christopher Akerman, 37, of Green Street in Somersworth, and Jamie Birmingham, 36, of Manchester, incarcerated at the time of the indictment, both for felony conspiracy to commit the crime of delivery of articles to prisoners. Between Oct. 1, and Oct. 25, 2017, Akerman and Birmingham allegedly agreed with Nicole Perry, Samarah Thurston, and others unknown or unindicted to sneak drugs into the Merrimack County House of Corrections. Specifically, Thurston – an inmate – allegedly asked Birmingham – another inmate – to bring contraband back from a work crew assignment at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium. Perry – another inmate – allegedly had calls with Akerman and instructed him where to hide the contraband. Akerman allegedly hid the contraband – a controlled drug – and Birmingham alleged concealed the drugs in her vagina in order to bring the drugs into prison in and share them with female prisoners.
