Why Were Some Hoboken Grocery Shelves Empty Last Weekend?
Social media users posted about empty shelves in Trader Joe's. Here's what's behind it.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Social media users in Hoboken posted photos of empty shelves in Trader Joe's on Sunday, saying they were told more items were on the way. The temporary lack of inventory wasn't just from one cause.
"Wiped out, mad apocalyptic," wrote a Twitter user on Sunday, regarding the Hoboken Trader Joe's. Another posted a photo of two long, bare shelves.
This week, experts cited staffing shortages (due to COVID), winter weather, and other supply chain issues in why some stories were temporarily barren last week. Changing demand and consumer behavior also play a role.
