Inova Health System is seeking recovered patients who could help those continuing to fight COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus. It is part of a nationwide effort to collect and provide convalescent plasma donations, which have antibodies that can be used on the health system's sickest patients.

Toddler Care System Opens Homes To Children Of Essential Workers

Infant Toddler Family Day Care has opened many of its homes to support essential workers and families in the Northern Virginia area. The organization's child care homes are limited to five children, making it easier to maintain social distancing and keep the children and day care providers safe.

Northam To Protesters: 'This Is Not The Time To Play Politics'

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam rejected calls Monday from President Donald Trump and protesters for the state to begin to lift restrictions that were put in place to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. At a press briefing, Northam reiterated a message Vice President Mike Pence told governors in a conference call earlier in the day on the best way to fight the coronavirus: "One team, one mission."

Coronavirus Kills 9 More In DC; 2,927 Total Positive Cases

The D.C. Department of Health confirmed Monday morning that there were 1o5 new cases of the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of positive cases in the District to 2,927.

New Coronavirus Testing Option For DC-Area Residents

One Medical had already been providing coronavirus testing for its members at an open-air testing site in Georgetown. On Friday, the health-care provider expanded its testing services to all residents of the D.C. metro region on an appointment-only basis.
