Student Sues Over Sexual Assault On Band Trip
An Oakton High School student is suing Fairfax County Public Schools for its response to an alleged sexual assault on a band trip. The lawsuit claims staff on the trip were told about the assault, but did not properly help the girl, and back at home school officials discouraged her from reporting to police and warned her about punishment.

Dulles Toll Road Rates Will Almost Certainly Triple: Report
As we reported last month, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authorities will be holding hearings this summer to make a major increase to tolls on the Dulles Toll Road. But a new report suggests that these hearings may be nothing more than a formality, and regardless of public input, Herndon and Reston drivers will be paying a lot more in the coming years.

Gun Threat Puts Schools On Lockdown: Official
Manassas City Public Schools were on lockdown Tuesday afternoon when 911 dispatchers received a call of someone with a gun at a school, said a city official.
VA Amber Alert Canceled: Sex Offender Arrested, Baby Safe
An Amber Alert has been canceled for a North Carolina sex offender accused of kidnapping his infant daughter at knifepoint. Virginia State Police say Carl Ray Kennedy 51, has been arrested for abducting 7-month-old Emma Grace Kennedy from a Virginia gas station.
