Alexandria Council Endorses Community Police Review Board
On Tuesday, City Council passed a resolution condemning systemic racism and directing the city manager to create a proposal for a community police review board. The proposal would come to City Council on Sept. 8.
VA Positive Coronavirus Test Percent Drops As Backlog Gets Added
Virginia's seven-day average for the percent of positive cases reached a new low of 8 percent Friday after about 43,000 new coronavirus test results were added to the state's official count, according to the Virginia Department of Health. The 8-percent positive rate is down from a peak of 22.2 percent on April 19.
DC Health Confirms 4 Additional Deaths Due To Coronavirus
D.C. Department of Health confirmed 65 additional cases of the new coronavirus in the District Friday. This brings the total number of cases in D.C. to 9,654.
