• Police allegedly found burglary tools and stolen property inside the car, following the high-speed chase through Carlsbad.

Brush Fire Halted Near I-15 In Escondido

• Officials say Interstate 15 remains open, but nearby Champagne Boulevard is expected to be closed for several hours.

DUI Checkpoint Planned In Carlsbad

• The checkpoint is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday and end at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Palomar Airport Road at Gateway Drive.

Small Brush Fires Extinguished Along I-8 In Alpine

• The spot fires alongside I-8, just west of Tavern Road in the Alpine area, blackened a total of about two acres.

Police Search For Robbery Suspects In La Mesa

• A sheriff's helicopter is assisting the La Mesa Police Department in the search near Baltimore Drive and Fletcher Parkway.
