Around 2:15 p.m. on Oc. 7, 2022, an officer was sent to the New Hampshire Federal Credit Union on Airport Road for a report of a bad check. An employee accused McDonald of driving up to the drive-thru ATM and cashing an altered or fictitious check for $3,400. She then withdrew $2,500 from the account, an affidavit said. At the time, there were some funds in the account but due to the fake check, there was a deficit of $2,582.95, which she now owed the credit union, the report said. The employee said the company had made “numerous attempts” to reach her and resolve the matter, but she had not responded, the affidavit stated. After gathering all the evidence for the case, the officer made numerous attempts to reach McDonald, in October and November 2022, to no avail, the report said. The officer went to Oak Street and spoke with family members who said they had not seen her for a few weeks, but she knew police were looking for her, according to the affidavit. On Nov. 26, 2022, the officer contacted the company name on the check and confirmed it was fictitious, the report said. A warrant was issued in early December 2022.
