And the Most Read Story in 2016 on NH Patch is …
The presidential primary, missing teens and kids, a tea party activist arrested, an overdosing mom on camera, Powerball, and a lot more.

It’s time to say goodbye, finally, to 2016, and a big thank you, to all of you, our readers, for helping us to have one of our biggest years yet in the nearly six years of our existence in the Granite State. As of this morning, the New Hampshire Patch.com sites earned more than 13.35 million page views, more than 1.5 million more when compared to 2015 (11.78 million). For that, we thank you so much.
There were a lot of big stories this year – the historic presidential election and all the controversy and debris that followed along the campaign trail, silly by often horrific crime stories, tragic accidents, and some fun things and good news, too.
Earlier this week, we asked readers to guess what the most read story of the year was and the majority of readers in the poll, 50 percent, guessed correctly: The top story of the year was our results post for New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary 2016 New Hampshire Primary Results: Voters Swamp Polls

The arrest of Tea Party activist and Donald Trump supporter Jerry DeLemus, which made national headlines, was the second most read story of 2016 on New Hampshire Patch.com.
Coming in at No. 3, was a post about a missing boy from Manchester who was, thankfully, found two days later.

Another popular read on Patch this year was the story of a Salem mom who was caught on camera overdosing while her toddler daughter, dressed in pajamas, was tugging at her, trying to wake her up.
And on a more cheerful note, rounding out the Top 5 stories of the year on Patch, was a post about the anonymous New Hampshire Powerball winners who plan on doing good deeds with their $256 million prize.
