Sunapee Woman Dies After SUV Crash On Route 11: New Hampshire State Police Roundup

CONCORD, NH — A woman from Sunapee died after a crash on Wednesday.

Around 6:30 p.m., troopers from two barracks were sent to Route 11 for a report of a crash near Trow Hill Road. Mary K. Moynihan, 22, of Sunapee, was driving on the southbound side of the highway in a 2022 Toyota RAV4 when she collided with a tree that had fallen across the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assisting state troopers with the crash, which remains under investigation, were Sunapee police, Sunapee firefighters, and New London EMS.

Mass. Man Charged With Aggravated DUI

A man from Massachusetts was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of drunken driving and being clocked driving 116 miles per hour.

Around 10:45 p.m., a trooper monitoring traffic on Interstate 93 in Tilton saw a vehicle speeding excessively. She clocked the vehicle and got a reading of 116 mph as it approached and passed her, a report stated.

The trooper pulled the vehicle over and spoke to Freddy Morocho-Carchi, 25, of Milford, Massachusetts. He was later arrested for aggravated driving under the influence, reckless operation, open container, and operating without a valid license charges. Morocho-Carchi was released on personal recognizance and is due in Franklin District Court at a later date.

Chase On I-93 Leads To Charges

A man from Tilton was arrested on Wednesday on drunken driving and other charges after a chase on Interstate 93.

Around 1:45 p.m., state police received a tip about a hazardous driver in a pickup truck on the northbound side of the highway with “significant lane control issues.” State troopers found the pickup truck, pursued it, and accused the driver, Michael G. Burnham, 54, of Tilton, of nearly striking a New Hampshire Department of Transportation employee working on maintenance in the breakdown lane.

Burnham left the Interstate on Exit 20, and at the lights, two troopers used their cruisers to block the truck. He was arrested on driving under the influence, reckless operation, disobeying an officer, open container, and resisting arrest or detention charges as well as a lane control violation. Burnham is due in Franklin District Court on Dec. 12.

Shannon Lee Cagnon, 41, of Harrisville, Rhode Island, was arrested at 6:31 p.m. on Nov. 11 on aggravated driving under the influence-adult more than 0.08; minor less than 0.02, aggravated driving under the influence-passenger under 16, driving under the influence, driving under the influence-adult more than 0.08; minor less than 0.02, and endangering the welfare of a child charges. She was arrested in Windham.

A 16-year-old from Nashua was arrested at 9:57 p.m. on Nov. 10 on reckless operation charge and a failure to move right for emergency vehicles violation in Nashua.

Scott Ernest Procum, 61, of Weare was arrested on a driving under the influence charge in Bedford at 4:55 p.m. on Nov. 10.

Matthew R. Murray, 36, of Manchester was arrested at 11:08 p.m. on Nov. 9 on aggravated driving under the influence-30+ mph, driving under the influence, driving under the influence-second offense, and reckless operation charges after an incident in Manchester.

Hepay Gasimi Juma, 22, of Manchester was arrested at 8:17 p.m. on Nov. 9 on driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent and transport drugs in a motor vehicle charges as well as failure to use required turn signal and following too closely violations.
